Miguel has a vast portfolio of buildings in the private and public domain, including the headquarters of the Judiciary Police, the Lisbon Campus of Justice and the Beatriz Angelo Hospital. He is also the author of the Portuguese Pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020 in the UAE and the thematic pavilions at Expo Astana 2017 in Kazakhstan.
In the international area, S+A has undergone a rapid expansion process, creating its own structures on 4 continents, with work completed in countries such as Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Colombia, Kazakhstan, and Switzerland, among others. The studio stands out on the international scene, considering that since 2012 it has been listed among the largest in the world by the prestigious WA100 (World Architecture 100) ranking, having reached in 2021 the 87th world position and the 10thatelier in the world in the Sustainability sector.
Among other awards and honorable mentions to his projects, the “BIM D’OR International” award in the category of “Best Architecture Studio” and “Best Private Project” in 2013 and also in 2019 stand out.
He was also the winner of the “Personality of the Year in Architecture” award in 2013 by Construir magazine and receives the “SIL Career Distinction” award in 2015.
